C - Crysis 2 OST - Multiple Composers

Crysis 2 is no doubt one brilliant game, it is so brilliant in fact that it was the most downloaded game in 2011. I didn't download it of course *iamhintingthatimwinking*. But what can NEARLY correlate with it's good story, visuals and overall gameplay is its soundtrack which pretty much moulds everything together.

What's so special about this album?

There were four people that actually helped in the composing of the pieces. You might even remember them; Borislav Slavov, Tilman Sillescu, Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe. With that lot of star studded composers it was no wonder how very hard it was to connect the album to a single person. Except for Hans Zimmer, some of his ones were (somehow) easy to spot.

Now if you haven't played the game then the soundtrack pretty much consists of music that you can fit onto lots of action scenes. There's also the times where a bit of humanity is involved, what I mean by humanity is that you would see how some people would react to a certain situation, which the music accompaines very nicely. Lest we forget that Crysis 2 also involves a lot of sneaking, as did the previous game so some of the tracks can pretty much keep you in that feeling of wanting to sneak up on someone.

All in all?

A very good and versatile album and if you're into a lot of putting yourself into the moment.

  3. Hans Zimmerman is a genius composer. His work on Dark Knight and Inception are hauntingly beautiful. No doubt the music for this game is just as good. A-Z challenge baby!

    1. That he did! My favourite was that he did music for The DaVinci Code.

  6. Didn't like Crysis 2 at all, but hit me if the music wasn't impressive. They really must have spent shitloads of money on it, it's nice to see that huge games are getting closer and closer to all the fuse that blockbusters get.

    1. Yeah man I understand what you mean, why I didn't like Crysis 2 is because Crysis 1 had replay value but Crysis 2 kinda didn't. Hell I can't judge you if you didn't like the music, I wouldn't be offended, the composers maybe but me? Nah.

Let's just hope the fame doesn't get to their heads.

  7. I read somewhere that music for games now is one of the biggest markets, even bands want their music for the big games now, it means it gets heard by more people. Don't play games now, the last one i did was gta, those graphics look so dated now with all this realism. C.J with his blocky head..
